We are thrilled to announce that the Lenmed Zamokuhle Private Hospital has signed on as the main sponsor of the Thembisa Mile which is taking place on Sunday, 26 October 2025 at Olifantsfontein Sports Ground. As the only private hospital located in Thembisa, the Lenmed Zamokuhle Private Hospital has a long history of supporting The Thembisa Mile, which comprises of a 1 Mile and a 10km distances
"Lenmed Zamokuhle Private Hospital has been with us since 2017 as Healthcare partner of the Thembisa Mile and are grateful of their unwavering support over the years," said Thembisa Mile founder Donald Mathipa. "We want to make the Thembisa Mile, the premier road running event of our township and the Lenmed Zamokuhle Private Hospital coming on board as our Tier 1 sponsor will add more impetus to achieving our goal in the coming three years."

Lenmed Zamokuhle Private Hospital Manager Mahlatse Mathebula expressed his excitement at this new step saying it will allow them to serve their community more. "Last year I jokingly said that should they not be careful we would be taking over as the anchor sponsor. I can confirm that we have agreed to be the anchor sponsor of the event starting this year. We look forward to a fruitful journey and we hope that our partnership will grow from strength to strength as we aim to make an even bigger contribution in the years to come."
As has been the case over the last decade, proceeds from the 2025 race will once again go to towards the Thembisa Athletic Club’s annual December training camp which is used to prepare the club’s 68 junior, youth and sub-youth athletes for the season ahead.

Central Gauteng Athletics Acting President Karabo Mabilo was there to offer the federation’s support praising the Thembisa Mile and the host club the Thembisa Athletic Club for their tireless work in developing future champions through the CGA cross country and track and field league meetings. This partnership comes at precisely the right time. After a sold out event of 3000 participants in 2024, organisers have announced that Thembisa’s flagship road running celebration will cater for 4000 runners and walkers this year. Entries will open in July.
